Empowering young people to strengthen democracy and preserve human rights
In the summer of 2025, the Anne Frank Youth Network (AFYN) will bring together engaged youth from across the globe in an International AFYN Youth Forum, ‘Remember the Past, Shape the Future’ aimed at empowering young people to strengthen democracy and preserve human rights.
Youth from many regions of the world are more interested than ever in coming together to foster dialogue and to build bridges towards shaping a future in which Anne’s vision of a more compassionate and understanding world becomes a reality.

Through learning to become active citizens and looking back at lessons drawn from history, the AFYN aims to provide a platform for young people from across the United States, Europe, Latin America and beyond to come together for a week of workshops, excursions, expert seminars and panels in exchange about a shared future.
Themes: Youth empowerment, learning from and about the Holocaust, Democratic values, Rule of Law, Active citizenship, bridge building, fostering dialogue.

This international youth conference is an AFYN initiative organized by the Anne Frank Center at the University in South Carolina in cooperation with the Anne Frank House.
It is aimed at engaging young people in an international, multi-cultural environment to learn from the atrocities of the Holocaust and how we can build a better future.
